Obituary

David Robert Gilmore age 68 of Ravenna died peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at his home. Dave was born on July 7, 1951 in Muskegon, the son of Donald and Donna (Moran) Gilmore and graduated from Ravenna High School with the class of 1970. Dave worked various jobs before working as a commercial truck driver for many years. Dave loved life and had his own “spin” on living. As a member of the Avengers Motorcycle Club, he enjoyed riding the open roads on his Harley, soaking in the scenery and meeting new friends along the way. Whenever possible, you would find him spoiling his grandchildren and supporting them in their many activities, and was usually listening to Pink Floyd or Elvis. Occasionally, when time allowed, you could also find him out working in his garden. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Deb Francis, and his brother Doug Gilmore. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Kelly Robinson and husband Brandon, and Traci Morey and husband Scott all of Ravenna, his grandchildren Michael and Kelsey Morey, Sophie and Eliott Robinson; his former wife Lou Blackmore; his longtime friend Sherry Hanlon of Hastings; his brothers Donald Gilmore of Grand Haven, Dan (Georgeanne) Gilmore of Sturgis, and Dennis (Helen) Gilmore of Ravenna; his sister Diane (Ron) Stratton of Ravenna; his brother-in-law Marv Francis of Muskegon; his sister-in-law Mary Gilmore of Ravenna; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dave’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 18 at Ravenna Free Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Graybill officiating. Friends may meet with his family on Saturday from noon until time of services at the church. Those who wish to make a memorial donation are asked to consider his family.
