James Richard Faulkner Sr. age 81, of Alma, Michigan formally of Ravenna unexpectantly left his earthly family and went home to the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2011. Jim was born on May 31, 1930 in Ravenna, MI to the late Charles and Zella (Davies) Faulkner. He was a lifelong resident of Ravenna and Graduated from Ravenna High School in 1950. He was a lifelong member of the Ravenna United Methodist Church. Jim served in the United States Army in the Korean War and also served in Germany. He met and married Audrey Mary (Sharpe) Faulkner while on leave on August 27, 1955 in Peterborough, England while on leave. Jim was a 32 degree Mason with memberships in Ravenna Lodge#441, Sparta Lodge #334 and the Alma Lodge. receiving awards for 50 years member in 2003 and Mason of the year in 2002 and 2006. He was a member of the Scottish Rite in Grand Rapids and Ravenna American Legion. He retired from Sealed Power and enjoyed going on many Orchard View Travelers bus trips where they traveled all around the country and made many new friends. They also helped their Daughter Jeannie sell produce at farmers markets around West Michigan. He enjoyed the Round Table and Stockyard Café for coffee and breakfast and visiting with his friends. Jim will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years: Mary Faulkner of Alma, 1 Son: James Faulkner Jr. of Ravenna. 3 Daughters: Janet (Bill) Hayes of Sparta, Jeannie (Roger) Stevens of Ravenna and Julie (Tom) Miller of Ferrysburg. 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Great Niece Paula, Special granddaughter Melissa and special great grandchildren Khyrin and Eris. Jim was preceded in death in addition to his parents by: 1 Daughter: Jane Faulkner, 1 Son: John Faulkner, 1 Brother: Paul Faulkner and 2 Sisters: Lillian Flanders and Evelyn Faulkner. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Ravenna United Methodist Church in Ravenna with Rev. Carl Black officiating. The Masonic Services will also be held at the church. Burial will be in Ravenna Township Cemetery. The family will be at the Church from 12:30pm until the time of service to greet friends.
