Jennie Spoelman age 100, went home to her lord and savior on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Jennie was born on February 23, 1911 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Andrew and Hazel (Fisher) Scott. She married Henry Spoelman on November 13, 1929 in Casnovia, MI. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1987. Jennie is survived by: 2 Sons: Paul (Marlene) Spoelman of Coopersville and David (Coralee) Spoelman of Newaygo. 5 Daughters: Mary Ann (Richard) DeJonge of Newaygo, Ruth (Kenneth) Morey of Lansing, Esther (Larry) Blackmer of South Haven, Sarah Jane (John) Olman of Paw Paw and Elizabeth (Paul) Borgman of Ravenna. Daughter in-law: Jane Spoelman of Muskegon. 23 Grandchildren and 41 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. 3 Sisters: Jeanette Meindertsma of Coopersville, Dorothy Koning of Caladonia and Katherine Karp of Pentwater. Jennie was preceded in death in addition to her parents and husband by: 2 Sons: James and Calvin Spoelman, 1 Grandson: Kenneth Morey, 2 Great Grandchildren: Richard Spoelman and Samantha Blask. Funeral services for Jennie Spoelman will be conducted on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00am at the First Reformed Church in Ravenna with Pastor Steve VanderWoude officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will be at the First Reformed Church on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00pm & 6:00 to 8:00pm to receive friends. Also on Saturday from 10:00am until time of service. Memorials may be directed to: Ravenna First Reformed Church, Juvenile Diabetes Association (Michigan Great Lakes Chapter) and Hospice of North Ottawa Community Health System.
