Obituary

Carol Louise Empie-Williams-Blackmore age 87, of Muskegon/Ravenna died Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Newaygo Comfort Hospice Home in Fremont. Carol was born on June 24, 1934 to the late Leonard and Laural (Bunnell) Empie. She married Charles Blackmore on April 29, 1958. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2004. Carol is survived by her children: Dale Williams of Muskegon, Carla (Bruce) Olmstead of Newaygo, Daniel (Ronda) Blackmore of Ravenna, Sharon (Timothy) Ponce of Spring Lake, Gloria (Charles) Johnson of Ravenna, Gary (Vicky) Blackmore of Missouri and Joseph (Teresa) Blackmore of Ravenna. 24 Grandchildren and 43 Great Grandchildren. 3 Brothers: Leon (Ruth) Empie and Lyle Empie both of Sparta and Bernard Empie of Howard City. 2 Sisters: Marilyn Nance of Cedar Springs and Rosalie Wood of Muskegon. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by parents, husband Charles, Grandson Jordan R. Ponce, Sister Lois Gunneson and Barbara Kennamer. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:00am at the Free Methodist Church of Ravenna with Pastor Carlos Ramos and Pastor Kimber Decker officiating. Burial will be in Chubbic Cemetery. The family will be at the church to greet friends from 9:00am until time of service.
